The Bamboo Special - Double Taper is a long overdue addition to the Royal Wulff line-up. Built off the much loved Bamboo Special - Weight Forward taper design, the double taper style adds delicacy and short-range accuracy to your cast. This line is perfect for any double taper fans or a bamboo rod enthusiast. There is something classicabout a double taper; it just feels like the right choice when choosing a line for a slower action, delicate delivering bamboo rod. Not only does the double taper make casting bamboo feel right, the retro color scheme harkens back to a more simple time of fly fishing.

The Bamboo Special - Double Taper is also a satisfying  taper for fiberglass rod anglers. Fiberglass comes from a time when Double Tapers were still the standard. While they have their place, modern taper lines can outpace the slow action of bamboo and fiberglass, often ruining the the feel of the cast and the delivery of the fly

Why a double taper?

Double taper lines are particularly popular with dry fly anglers, aiding in delicate presentations and accurate roll and short casts while still allowing for distance:

• Extremely long bellies, allowing anglers to hold a lot of line in the air without the need to shoot line

• Long bellies are also preferable for roll casting

• The front taper that works well up close, but the long belly allows for distance

• Double taper lines may not shoot well, they hold big loops well
